Sarah Jefferies is a vocal graduate of the Royal Academy of Music, where she studied with Josephine Veasey and Patricia Clarke. Whilst at the Academy, Sarah was the recipient of many prizes including Early Music, Lieder and English Song. She was an active member of the opera course, singing roles by Britten, Strauss and Mozart.
Upon leaving the Academy, Sarah studied with Margreet Honig and Elly Ameling at the Sweelinck Conservatorium in Amsterdam. She has sung recitals and oratorios all over Europe and was a member of the Opera De Lyon, with whom she recorded many works including Schoenberg’s ‘Moses und Aron’ and Orf’s ‘Carmina Burana’.
Sarah is a visiting teacher of voice at Marlborough College in Wiltshire and and has adjudicated all over the Uk and the Middle East, as well as at some of the major conservatoires in the U.K.
Sarah has a real fascination for the workings of the human voice, and enjoys helping her students of all ages and standards to improve their vocal abilities.

As far as possible, Adult classes will take place on the first date and Young Singers classes will take place on the second one but there may be some exceptions to this. Please note on your entry form any unavailability, especially any singers who are also taking part in the Dance section.
The Vocal Section encompasses all styles of singing and a microphone will be available for those who wish to use it. There are also classes that include singing in the Speech & Drama and Dance Sections. |

YOUNG SINGERS’ CLASSES
The G M Velde Cup will be awarded for the best performance of a singer 12 years and under.
The Portsmouth Music Club Anniversary Award will be awarded for the best performance by a singer aged 13-18 years.
The Terri Freeman Cup will be awarded at the discretion of the adjudicator for consistently high quality
performances given by a singer in either the Young Singers or the Adult section.

The Ted Marsh Memorial Cup will be awarded for the best overall performance in the Adult Vocal Section. |
The Kathleen Stace Rose Bowl will be awarded to the overall winner of the Lady’s and Gentleman’s solo classes. |
